What are the first things that come to mind when you think of Summer? We think of warm sunshine, free flowing bohemian prints, the sound of waves crashing, road trips with friends & an ode to adventures turned to golden nostalgia once Summer fades…
You have an open schedule for three months of Summer bliss, so gather your girls & let’s hit the road in search of open skies, the ocean & bonfires.
Where to from Brisbane?
Aussie fave Byron Bay, of course
One of Australia’s most popular little coastal towns (and with good reason!) is Byron Bay. Byron has everything you want – amazing boutique shopping, some might say the home of bohemian & linen, incredible food (vegetarians & vegans eat your (vege) heart out!), cute boys & the beach. You can bliss out or let your hair down & have a boogey in Byron, it has the best of both worlds!
Pit stop coffee:
Make pitstop before your roadtrip at one of our fave cafes in Brisbane – Nodo. They also do a yummy breakfast if you want to fill your tummy before the big drive.
The Bower Cottage – Located right in the heart of Byron & super Insta worthy! Stay in their gorgeous ‘Bower Barn’ with the outdoor bathtub.
Twilight Eats & Live Music:
Finish the day with the a visit to The Three Blue Ducks at the Farm Byron Bay. They have the BEST food & cocktails. Enjoy the sunset with their chickens, piggies, cows & sunflower fields.
Now let’s head north from Brisbane & road trip to Montville
Rainforest retreat in Montville
Head in the opposite direction of Byron Bay towards the Sunshine Coast & it’s gorgeous Hinterland. If you feel like slowing things down & getting away from the tourists then head to Monvtille for rainforests & waterfalls, wineries & quaint little country towns. Let yourself unwind in this tranquil little pocket of the world…R
Spicers Tamarind Retreat – Toast marshmallows under pastel skies that turn to twinkling stars. A jug (or two) of mojitos won’t go astray! There’s something so peaceful & calming about being surrounded by nature, away from the hustle & bustle of city living. Leave your phone inside, it’s time to take a break from screen time to story tell & reminisce on the old days, laughing until your sides hurt. Remember that embarrassing kiss when you were like 14?!
Lunch at Flamehill Vineyard & Rainforest walks:
Wineries with a group of friends is so much fun! Go for a wine tasting followed by a picnic amongst the grapevines & chickens. Relax, graze & bask in the warm sunshine. After your long lunch head for a rainforest walk to Kondalila falls. Pack your bikinis & take a dip to cool off! Why not pack a bottle of wine from the winery too…
after all, walking is thirsty work!
