Come with us to Byron Bay, home to Splendour In The Grass and the location of our most recent festival themed photoshoot: Hearts Like Wildflowers.
Hearts Like Wildflowers was inspired by our Bohemian Mura Girl. The girl who is always seeking adventure, eagerly awaiting the next festival lineup and her wardrobe is filled with bold prints, lace and vintage finds.
The minute we saw Temple Farmhouse we knew that it was the perfect location for the shoot. Located just outside Byron Bay in Nashua, this rustic farmhouse is set atop rolling hills and boasts the most incredible view. (We have never seen a sunrise quite like it!) Every nook of the house has been lovingly created to exude warmth and a feeling of home. Both inside & outside equally breathtaking, it evokes a feeling in you that is hard to put into words. The outdoor fire pit, wooden swing set & hammocks, and the herb & flower garden creating the perfect backdrop for our shoot.
After a long journey from Brisbane, we arrived late at night to our sanctuary. On the counter we found a bottle of Down The Rabbit Hole Wine waiting for us (So delicious! We recommend you try!). A truly beautiful sight to our eyes! We spent the night cosied up by the fire with a glass of wine in hand and a toasted marshmallow in the other…
We had the perfect location so we had to find the ultimate festival muses to match! We wanted to shoot with three girls to create the story of three friends getting ready together for a festival. We found Gabby, Milly & Yani through Instagram. Each girl a festival goer with their IG game on point! Yani lucky enough to have scored Splendour tickets, Milly just home from Coachella and Gabby having been to 8 Coachella’s like it’s no big deal!
Yani is from the Sunshine Coast and is always found adventuring the Coasts coolest unknown spots and rocking some vintage finds! She is part time influencer, photographer and owns a cafe called John Kyle Espresso with her dreamboat of a boyfriend #couplegoals.
A hard girl to catch, Milly lives half in Brisbane and half in NYC! Living the dream! Not only a lifestyle blogger but she is also a journalist. Warning: Her Instagram photos may cause you to book a plane ticket to the Big Apple…
Gabby also a Girl Boss, is the owner of Hunter x Hunter Jewellery, has spent the last 5 years living it up in LA and worked at Zimmerman to boot! She calls Byron Bay home and her lifestyle gave us inspiration for our shoot.
Who better to suit a bohemian themed photoshoot than Frankie, a vintage VW Kombi Van! He blasted some Jackson 5 to get us all into the mood and bring our Festival spirit to life.
The Picnic Portal and White Havana created the most dreamy picnic set up. We spent an hour lazing under the beautiful Winter sunshine eating way too much food! There were 5 different types cheeses, how could we not!
We hope you loved our festival shoot just as much as we did! A big thanks to all the beautiful people who helped make it happen.
The MB Team xx
