With the Uni holidays almost over, we thought there was no better time to share with you some of our best study tips and tricks to help you get over your post holiday blues and ready to ace the rest of the semester! Maintaining a happy and healthy study/life balance is really important.
Here is our study sched that will keep you happy, healthy and motivated during the study grind:
Have a yummy breakfast and nourish yourself for the day. There’s nothing like a little smashed avo with feta or a crunchy granola with yoghurt and berries for a sweeter morning. Yum!
Go for a walk and soak up the sunshine. You’ll feel so much better with those happy endorphins up and running!
Make sure your study space is set up. This is crucial! You need to have a spot where you feel comfortable, motivated and have all the tools that you’ll need for your study.
Make sure your space is clutter free. If your desk is organised, your mind will feel clearer and ready to focus on the task at hand! Stick up some empowering quotes to keep you feeling motivated and inspired. Make sure there’s lots of natural sunlight and some greenery like a plant. Put your phone on silent and place it on the other side of the room. You can’t stay focused if you keep getting looking at those group chat notifications! Make sure you have snacks close by. If you’re prone to getting hangry (guilty!) then you need to have something on stand-by to keep you going and keep that hangry mood at bay. Our favourite snacks are a homemade nut mix, cheese plate, fruit or popcorn.
Our favourite time of the day – Lunch time! Make sure you have a big delicious lunch. You need the brain food! Also take this time to check out those hilarious memes that your friends have tagged you in, otherwise if you’re anything like us you’ll be getting some serious meme FOMO.
It’s been two hours since lunch so it’s time for a 20 minute break. Try listening to a podcast or a playlist on Spotify and take some time out. Make sure you drink some H20 too, it’s important to stay hydrated!
It’s the end of the day and time to wrap up your study. Don’t push yourself too hard because you’ll actually become less productive and stressed out. Get out your diary and tick off the things that you have achieved today. Celebrate your wins and how hard you worked! Write down and prioritise what you need to do for tomorrow and make a game plan.
Dinner! Yay! Have something like salmon with lots of veges. Salmon is full of Omega 3 which is an amazing source of brain food.

Time for some beauty sleep! While you’re sleeping your brain is actually preparing itself for the next day. Sleep helps you pay attention, learn, make decisions, and be creative. Super important!
And the final secret?
Believe in yourself. Do anything for a couple of hours a day, a few days a week, and you’re bound to become good at it! Work hard and reap the rewards. You’ve got this, just believe!
